Yacht and Boat Delivery

Motor or sail, local shifts to long passages, my crew and I will get your vessel from where she is to where you want her — safely and efficiently, ready for your use.

Vessel Care

As a long-time boat owner myself, I understand the financial and personal investment you have in your vessel and the concern you have for its safety. My crew and I will treat your vessel with respect and maintain her in top condition.

  • Upon arrival at vessel, complete a thorough vessel inspection and documentation.

  • Complete a detailed vessel preparation for the journey ahead.

  • Provide a detailed itinerary and delivery plan to owner.

  • Conduct daily vessel cleaning.

  • Maintain a daily inspection log of all onboard mechanical systems.

  • Daily passage updates by available communication channels.

  • Upon arrival at destination, thorough vessel cleaning.

Welcome Aboard

After all, it is your boat. I welcome and encourage owners on deliveries. You will gain valuable knowledge and skill along the way. It will likely reduce your costs by reducing the number of required crew members.

General Rates

Each delivery is different, but these rates are a good starting point to understand a basic delivery.

Local Shift

Generally less than 40 NM and can be easily done in a single day.

Crew Fees

  • Captain $135/hour (four hour minimum).

  • Deckhand $150/day - likely not required depending on vessel and voyage.

Expenses

  • Actual cost for crew transportation to and from vessel.

  • All reasonable delivery costs (fuel, moorage, etc.)

Requirements

  • Vessel must be in reasonable working order and meet all USCG requirements.

  • Crew must be included on owner’s insurance.

Longer Delivery

Generally, 50-400nm and/or can be completed in 1 to 3 days.

Crew Fees

  • Captain $700/day.

  • 1st Mate and/or Deckhand $150 to $250/day - additional crew is required for multi-day deliveries.

Expenses

  • Actual cost for crew transportation to and from the vessel.

  • Provisioning $50/day/crew member.

  • All reasonable delivery costs (fuel, moorage, consumables, etc.). Deposit may be required.

Requirements

  • Vessel must be properly maintained and be equipped to meet the voyage’s safety requirements.

  • Vessel must have navigation and communication electronics in working order.

  • Crew must be included on owner’s insurance.

Passage Delivery

Generally, more than 400nm, coastal or offshore deliveries that will take days to weeks.

Crew Fees

  • Captain $700/day.

  • 1st Mate $250/day - additional credentialed seaman is required for near-coastal/offshore deliveries.

  • Deckhand $150/day - may be required based on vessel and voyage.

Expenses

  • Actual cost for crew transportation to and from the vessel.

  • Provisioning $50/day/crew member.

  • All reasonable delivery costs (fuel, moorage, consumables, etc.). Deposit for expected expenses required.

Requirements

  • Vessel must be properly maintained and be equipped to meet the voyage’s safety requirements.

  • Vessel survey may be required for offshore passages.

  • Vessel must have navigation and communication electronics in working order. Satellite phone for offshore passages.

  • Vessel must have life raft and SOLAS safety equipment for near-coastal and offshore passages.

  • Crew must be included on owner’s insurance.
